PRP: Platelet-Rich Therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is blood plasma with concentrated platelets and other growth factors. PRP contains huge reservoirs of bioactive proteins such as growth factors that are integral to initiate and accelerate tissue repair and regeneration. PRP utilizes the healing power of isolated platelets from an individual’s own blood to aid in the rejuvenation of their body’s soft tissues.  This therapy is a part of a quickly emerging medical niche called Orthobiologics. Orthobiologics studies ways in which the body is able to heal itself.  PRP therapy has proven itself effective in face and neck rejuvenation and is also used for the treatment of injured tendons, ligaments and cartiledge.
